About Fjörheimar
Fjörheimar was founded in 1983. Fjörheimar were first housed at Hjallavegur in Njarðvíkurhverfi. In 2008, Fjörheimar moved to Ásbrú but began operations in the current building in 2011 at Hafnargata 88 in Reykjanesbær (the same building as 88 Húsið, directly opposite the Post Office).
The internal work of the community center is based first and foremost on youth democracy and the initiative of the young people themselves. This is where search work takes place, which involves, among other things, following the young people who do not seem to find themselves in traditional leisure or sports activities within sports clubs or schools.
